Question Best solution for after market iPod connection to Nav?

So has anyone tried one of the after market iPod hookups that allow you to control the iPod through the steering wheel controls - such as Crutchfield, Denison or Dice?I had one from Dice in my old Solara and it was great. I'm looking forward to having the same capability in my Venza. Any suggestions?

I found a couple more options for iPod/Venza connection. On Neo's website it says:
We use popular demand to decide for which vehicles and products to develop, so be sure to sign up to let us know you're interested. We will be able to notify you when this product becomes available.
So if there is any chance you might be interested in their product - vote for Venza!

Another company (Scosche) says on their website:
    Now Shipping . . .

2009 Toyota Venza Double DIN and Single DIN w/ PKT
but the listing doesn't come up when you try to select your car make/model so I guess you have to call for the price.

Lots of choices but there doesn't seem to be a way to know how good any of the products are without buying them.

I called DICE today to ask if they had an iPod/Venza solution available yet. After conferring with his tech support the customer service rep told me that the Venza was a much different audio interface than previous Toyota vehicles so it would require more than a small modification on the kits they currently had in stock. He said that sales of Toyota interfaces was a big part of their business and he would make a note that they were getting calls about the Venza.

So, nothing yet available from DICE but if you might be interested please call their toll-free number to let them know. The more calls they receive the sooner we'll get a great iPod interface for our Venzas.

someone on edmunds used AutoPilot from griffintechnology... but personally, i'm thinking of seeing the dealers in canada since they have it as an option... but yeah, if not-i had DICE in the past and also contacted them a couple times, and probably will wait since they now have a 3G cable which would totally mean seamless iphone audio integration...

but since its JBL synthesis.... you might as well make Mp3 CDs since the quality of the sound will be deteriorated with cables and what not

The iPod car audio adapter is now available for the Venza from DICE! It supports song data display, steering wheel control and provides charging for the iPod ($169.99 + $14.99 shipping). It is not listed on their website yet. If you want one you will need to call their 800 number to place your order. I just ordered one which should arrive early next week. I'll let you know how it goes!

    Exclamation

I've been using the DICE iPod car audio adapter mentioned in the previous post (professional installation) for a couple of months now. I'm sorry to say I'm not completely satisfied but it does function at the basic level. It connects easily, sound is good and I'm able to control volume and next/previous song from the steering wheel controls.

The main problem I'm having is the song information display. Generally the info is correct at first but if you just let the iPod play randomly the information will get out of sync. You might have the right song title but the wrong album/artist info or it could all be held over from the previous song. Usually if you manually advance to the next song the display will be correct again for a while. I'm also unable to switch folders using the Venza controls.

I'm using the MP3 connection option and the song title is displayed on one line and the album/artist is displayed on the second line. Unless the name of the album is very short you rarely get to see the artist name (or only a few letters). The third line is wasted with the word DICE.

I'm still happy to have the steering wheel controls but since they advertise the song info display I think it should work. I've submitted a ticket describing the problem to the DICE website but have had no response. I'll give them a call this week to see if there is anything that can be done, but for now I would have to say wait until the bugs are worked out before you buy this product for the Venza.

Yes, I have the Navi JBL and no the DICE does not allow me to scroll through the song titles on the screen in a list. As I press the "next" button on the steering wheel I can flip forward through the songs in the folder fairly quickly but I only see one song at a time on the screen.

I really hope DICE can get this working better. Maybe seeing the song list will work in the future.

I ordered this one but these are very bad news, I do not want my Ipod to work like I was using a CF card , because this is exactly what you are getting. Did you consider this one: http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID...productID/1476

by watching the video it looks like this is the one to have.

There is an accessory from Toyota called, Ipod Integration that sells for 380.00, believe or not, I have spoken with 4 Toyota dealers and none of them know if it will work with the Navi.
