Default Getting Rosen to Work with Back Up Camera

I spoke with MASS electronics who Toyota here in Belleville Toyota (Ontario)uses to install the units. I do not know the tech details however they said it is easily done. Cost is $150. I also spoke with Rosen and they said it could be done however they said the Toyota warranty could be voided for the top dash display if it is tapped into...I have left mine on the top unit but it is an option to have it on the Rosen display.

Thanks for the reply! I can't seem to find anything in regards to what I need to use in order to transfer the signal over. A little timid to just start ripping things apart.

Going to install factory bluetooth so maybe I can figure out more at that point.

Wonder why you can't use Voice calling? That's weird as well.

I spoke with Rosen and they said that feature (voice calling) just does not work and when I asked if they planned on a module to enable this feature they said no. For me it is no big deal as the unit display is large and easy to use. Also be aware the GPS updates are only up to 2009. I have to call them and see if newer maps are available.

Beware of the Rosen Nav unit. I am from the aftermarket audio/video business. The Rosen unit has more software problems than China has rice! The Rosen units we installed as a company had to almost all be removed. I have not done the Toyota unit, but they are all the same basic chassis. Lock-up problems, audio issues, map freezes while driving, etc. The factory unit is more $$$, but works considerably better.

    Default Rosen Unit Freezes?

I have not had this issue. What is the only thing that does not work is Sirius access. Often I have to switch from FM to Sirius. In FM I switch stations then try Sirius and it works. When first starting the vehicle I cannot access sat radio. The installers tried to say it takes a while to switch from FM to Sirius that was a load of bunk. They waited 20 minutes before Sat radio connected. They replaced the unit and it works slightly better.
Strange it worked fine the first couple of weeks.

As for Rosen support they have been nice when I speak with them but not a clue otherwise.

They should be working on firware/software upgrades but they really don't care about improving their product ie adding hands free calling, improving sat connnectivity.

I also got the large back up camera connected. It works great. 2 options Rosen has HD camera or like me they used the exisitng camera and it works just fine, now I have a small and large back up screen.
