Question Love the Venza, but NOISY!

We just received our 2010 Venza brand new. Got the AWD, V6 and loaded package (minus the Nav). We love it, BUT, there is excessive road noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. This is most noticable on certain pavement types, but very disconcerting. It is almost like a hollow, boxey, reverberation type noise. A rumble noise. I know other Venza owners report the same thing.

I am dissappointed with this. I expected more from the $35k car. I did a 6-can rubberized undercoating today, and it made little difference. The car came with the Goodyear Eagle tires.

Anybody else have this issue? I love the car, but this seems like a major problem to me.

I don't know if you did a thorough test drive or not, but you must remember that the Venza is basically a hatchback. A typical vehicle has multiple layers (carpet, seats, etc.) between the rear suspension and the cabin. Mine is a 2010 V6 AWD and I haven't had any issues with noise. There is a TSB for the dealer to install a rubber isolator at the bottom of the rear spring perch between it and the spring that you may want to request.

Thanks. We test drove one at our local dealership and loved it. I do not remember any noise from the rear. We haggled with the salesperson to no avail, and walked out. My wife wanted the sunset bronze mica with premium package and we found exactly what we wanted in Phoenix via the internet. We got our deal from them. I did talk to our sales person (VERY helpful) from there this morning about the noise issue and he said "this is a premium vehicle so just take it in to the dealership and they will deal with it". So we will do that. I do not know if the TSB was addressed in Phoenix dealership. I will look and if not there, request it locally. Thanks Hollywood for your help.

    Hi

While doing my research l found out that the quietest tires are the Michelins 20". That was part of my deal and my Venza came with them and they are just fine.
Have your dealer switch them out fast.

    Good Luck

I will take the Venza into the dealership on Thursday. I hope I don't get the usual "I don't hear anything unusual...". I will be adamant about this. I will ask for the Michelins, as I have read many posts where they are MUCH quieter than the Goodyears Eagles. I will update when I come back from the stealership. Thanks for your comment Kingman.

my 2011 sunset brone mica V6 fwd is pretty quiet actually. I notice a tad of wind noise above 70 but in general, it's a quiet car. I am able to have bluetooth conversations at highway speeds and everyone understand me just fine.

Please understand. This is a quality car. It is quiet at most speeds but on certain pavement types, and at lower speeds, it is noisy. After reading and researching, I believe it is the Goodyear tires. Watchdog, what kind of tires did your 2001 come with?? I really want to get beyond this issue to enjoy my Venza for what it is. A good vehicle. I hope...

Uhh, oops, you are right. How embarressing!! I ask for your most humble apology. With all the mean, crude internet forum "handles" these days, I must have done a Freudian slip, glancing at your name and misinturpreting it. Funny how that happens... Please accept my apology and thanks for the advice. I will strive for the Michelins.

I have been driving my V6 Venza for months, and i have never experienced the noise comes from the rear. On the contrary, it is very very quiet.
