Cool New E&G Grill and H&R Springs

Well I just completed a few upgrades... E&G Chrome with black insert grill and H&R lowering springs.
The springs have not settled yet, so the drop is about half of what I expect it to be. It's only been 48 hrs since install. The springs are not hard to put in if you're good with tools and cars. Suspension work is always a bit of a challenge, but not bad in this case. It took about 40 minutes per spring. FYI you need a huge breaker bar or large impact wrench. The bolts holding the strut to the swing arm are tightened to 225 ft ibs. I both tools and my impact wrench didn't stand a chance. The 24" breaker bar was bending under the pressure of removing the bolts....unreal.

The grill takes a bit of adjustment to get it to fit right. I give the grill 8 our of 10 points. I'm second guessing all that chrome.

I still have other plans and upgrades to the Venza. The custom pics are my inspiration.

    Default Too much chrome

If the chrome gets to be too much, paint it to match the mesh. I think it would look good black or magnetic metallic gray to match the body.

I have the chrome grille inserts and I figured once the chrome starts getting nasty, I will paint them either satin black or magnetic metallic gray to match the body.

I like the look. I have the same color, so now I know what mine would look like with those mods.

I agree...not sure about the chrome at all. Don't care for the way it splits the mesh into two sides...but that's just my opinion and it's usually wrong.

    Default E&G Grille Mods

I had the same issue with the E&G Grille so I did some Photoshop work to see what it would look like without the center portion. I posted the images on this thread.

But since I had never seen one of the E&G grilles I didn't know if it would work or not.

So, NCVenza, is there (1) continuous piece of mesh in the grille, or it it (2) separate pieces?

I also thought it would look better painted instead of chrome, but I didn't want to spend that much on a part and then cut it up and paint it.

Short term I went with the chrome inserts, but I don't think those will be a permanent change for me.

The grill has two separate mesh pieces. The chrome grows on you and it does look pretty cool. The problem is it's not the direction I want to go with the Venza. I will most likely alter it in some fashion...paint, replated in black chrome or wrap it in carbon fiber vinyl.

Nobody has comments about the new springs! They are awesome! The stance looks so bad a$$ now. It has dropped about 2" so the gaps of the wheel well so gone. I also put new Yokohama Avid Envigors on. Let me tell you....these tires are truly great. They not only look great (side wall, tread pattern) but handle far better than the OE Goodyears. Tire Rack was correct in their review, check it out. I highly recommend these tires for replacement. I paid $199 at Discount Tire.

I'll put up some new pics...maybe tomorrow...I've got an LED project going too...maybe after that it done.

    Looks pretty cool!

I like the idea of filling the gap, but I don't really like that now the gap is not even all the way around the wheel.

I saw photos of 22's on a Venza and that fills the gap all the way around and somehow gives it the appearance of being lowered. Check out this thread.

The 22's look really good, but is a very expensive mod, what did the spring job cost you?

    Cool

    Thanks....

The springs are around $225 and I installed them myself. Professional install would easily be $200 or more. I like the idea of new wheels but I was going to stay with the 20" just go to 8-9" wide. I ditched that idea when the price for the cheap stuff was about $1500 and what I wanted was $2000+. I'll put up some new pics...as I said earlier the springs are settling and the wheel gap is gone. (unlike the original pic) Also, the Venza now has a rake to it. (front lower than the rear) Looks very cool. I've noticed I'm getting more second looks on the road.

Your Venza looks great with the H&R Springs, looking forward to seeing more up to date pics. I really want to see what the final drop with the OEM 20s is after they settle. Can you take closer pics of the wheel gap as well? Maybe even measurements as well??

I would suggest painting the grille Black or colour matched Grey.
