My manual says my 2010 4cyl AWD Venza needs to have it's propeller shaft re-torque. My dealer says it doesn't. Does anyone know the details regarding this. I would like to be able to do this my self. Does anyone know the spec?

Torque 74 N-m (750 kgf-cm, or 55ft'lbf
I would be very surprised to learn that techs actually re-torque as called for. I think they should.
Anything special I need to know to do it myself? I have always changed my own filters and fluids and have just used shops for things like timing belts. After the free oil changes are up I plan on doing the routine stuff. Torquing this propeller shaft is new to me. Do own a torque wrench, just not sure how to go about it.
Sorry I've never done it so I cant tell you too much about actually doing it. I'm looking at a page from the service manual now, it shows 4 bolts on the propeller shaft torqued to 55ft-lbf. I would say this is very straight forward as it does not call for a re-torque of the intermediate shafts. It is the 1st 4 bolt connection on the propeller shaft after the tranny. Expect to pay around $100 for a good quality torque wrench. Let me know please if you find out anything more.
