Default Venza Oil filter housing location?????

The venza doesn't have a regular oil filter. It uses an insert. (FRAM CH9972)
Does anyone know where it goes, or how to find the housing?

Drive the car front wheels on ramps. Block the rear wheels. Look up under the front of the car while on your back. The attachment shows an Avalon, but Venza uses the same engine and parts layout. I use NAPA or Wix filters.
PM me and I will send the attachment. File is too big for this forum. Contacted Rob to get it uploaded to the forum.

    Try:http://mojavetrail.webng.com/OilChange.pdf.

It shows a Highlander, but the motor and layout is identical.

Here's a couple of pics to show the I4 Oil Filter cartridge Assy.

It is a plastic material so rethreading cap is going to require extra care.... this is just like my old Avalon except the cartridge cap was metal..... An oil change s goiing to be rather straight forward and easy to accomplish

what you are looking at is the end cap.... the cartridge insert goes up inside the engine block..... the internal paper filter is replaced during the oil/filter change.....

The I4 takes 4.7 U.S. quarts w/filter change, the 6-cyl. takes 6.5 or so U.S. quarts w/filter change. the set p is the same for both engines, although they will likely use different sized cartridges. I had the same setup in my Avalon and can tell you the oil change was much easier than dropping the old external screw-on style filter canister as is used on the 06 RAV4 I4 engine..... sometimes change IS good....

The oil change procedure for the 3.5 L V6 is attached.

For the drain plug use the square end of 3/8 rachet wrench extension. Instead of the SST, use http://www.amazon.com/K-D-Tools-3253...=ATVPDKIKX0DER. Special Service Tools are available from http://toyota.spx.com/index.aspx, but usually kind of pricey.

    Default venza 09

Just got my first Toyota two months ago, it's a Venza 4 cylinder. I've been looking at the engine and been wondering whe're the engine oil filter, transmission oil dipstick and steering fluid reservoir. I've emailed the dealership but did not give any response. The only thing I found out is that it has no dipstick, now I don't know how to check how much oil is in the transmission. I think I finally found a place where I can find information on my venza. I find this forum very informative. Now I know where the engine oil filter is but is the location the same as the V6 and the I4? Thank you.

no sterring fluid - Venza is drive by wire........

Tranny fluid is good for 100K miles.... but your point is valid - how to check safe operating level.... probably a sensor.....check owners manual for instrument cluster readouts in OM.

Oil filter location - Irrespective of location it is obvious as to what it is as it looks the same......

New car/design/technologies requires a whole new perspective and approach to what we considered the norm..... we hear ya!

    Enjoy the new ride
