    Default Winter Tires

    Hello:
i am looking for feedback on the following questions regarding winter tires for the Venza 2011 (AWD) with 19" tires.

    1. Rim Sizes available to fit on the studs ?
    2. Tire sizes which are acceptable on the Venza (dealer said that 17 inch would work), but didn't give exact specifications (i.e 265R17).
    3. pros and cons to using 17" tires vs. something larger (should I simply get 19" tires to match).

Note, I will not be using the Alloy rims, but getting steel rims which i can then install and remove myself in the spring/fall in prep for the upcoming season.

    Thanks,
    Jim

I've called around looking for tires for the 2011 Venza AWD V6 and was also told the 17" would fit.

    Size is 245/65R17
Depending how much you want to spend I've seen some deals from the Ottawa area for 17" tire and alloy wheel package for $1100. Here in the Toronto area, I was quoted ~$900 for 17" on steel wheels.

just bought some 245/65/17 on new steel wheels for $800 at tire world in brampton.

note: your TPMS sensors will flash unless u get the sensors and have them programmed by toyota. Im not spending another cpl hundred for 4 months of winter driving, i can live with the flashing TPMS warning.

i agree.... I also haav 17 inch for my snow tires..... and the tire pressure light will flash for a minute but then it will just turn solid... and it doesn't bother me much.

Would you happen to know if they have a cheap alloy wheel option? I usually have my winter tires on in Nov and take them off in April. So, I wouldn't mind spending a little more to have nicer wheels the other half of the year.

Now I haven't purchase a set yet as we have been lucky here for tye first winter in a long time but I would not go to 17".
My research as shown that a 18" or 19" is best but what really matters is the width of the rims or wheels. 8.5" or else the sidewalls get squished and become less stable in handling.
I belive my dealer is pushing the 17" size due to their own inventory bulk buying based on sales averaging choices.
I have read some dealers have admitted 17" is a mistake.

    Hi,
    I have 17" for my Venza AWD V6. Yeah 265R17 means 17".
To use the 19" you have to bend the fonders.
    Nothing is impossible............

I need 20" snows. Who has the best prices in Canada? Tire Rack delivers to Canada and a set of 4 is approx $1600. Costco here Blizzaks go for $325 a piece! Rims at the Tire Rack start at $199 each.

Hi, i'm in a similar situation - looking for winter options for my new 2010 Venza 4cyl with 19" wheels. Does anyone know if the 17" wheels recommended by Tire Rack actually fit? Know i'd have to use 245/65R17 tires to equate to the existing 245/55R19's. Or is an 18" option a better choice? Or will I have to stick with the factory 19" wheels? Advice would be appreciated!
