I guess my next step will be to call Toyota one more time and if nothing is done my next step will be to get a lawyer. =(
Did you get any response from Toyota? Or did you end up with a lawyer?

My 09 has various fit problems on the dash as well.

If they had to replace a speaker under that cover they would have to remove and reinstall it... I don't see why there is a problem?? It must just pop off?

I've got a 2010 model and I have the same issue with the dash not being flush with the center speaker grill (like the pic at the top of this post.) I plan to get the local dealership take care of this under warranty.

Has anybody with the same issue had Toyota fix it? Any kickback?

Perhaps getting a well-fitted sun screen will be a good idea then.

Yes, mine is built in july and have exact same problem. I also took a look others in the lot and the one in the showroom, they are have the same issue. I have not taken the car to service yet. Hopefully toyota will come up with a solution, it's really bad once you notice the problem.

I have a 10 model and I also experience the same issue, centre speaker is not flush at all. But the peeling is not as bad as yours though but to a point where it's noticeable and annoying! Again I realized the showroom car has the same issue.

I have a one week old 2010 model and I too have the same problem along with various other obvious dash misalignment. Took it back to the dealer and almost immediately they ordered part of the dash which includes the whole top part of the dash. Installation was done today and everything looks (and sounds) perfect so far. The gap above the right center vent is still there but much less that I don't notice it anymore. They did put a small scratch on part of the dash during installation but it is very minor and I can live with it.
