Thanks for the excellent photos you just saved me a ton of time. one thing though, do the q clips fit into the indented area on the top door sill or not. On one of your photos it looks like it doesn't

No, they don't fit in the indents. You can put the rear bar in the indents if you want, but the front bar has to be in just the right place if you are using the fairing. I needed a specific distance between the bars, so I pretty much put them where I needed too.

Also, I cut off the back side of the foot on the fairing bracket (the foot that rests on the roof). So when the moon roof closes, it actually gently pushes on the back side of the bracket as it closes. It was catching on the bottom, so I cut off where it caught.

Here's some pix from ToyotaNation forums
Look at the first pix for the modified bracket.

    Default Yaks

Thanks for the info. Do the cut off brackets for the fairing scratch the moonroof since when driving the wind forces the fairing down onto the roof. Thanks again, Im expecting my racks today or tomorrow so your info is much appreciated

No scratches...where it is cut off doesn't touch anything (cut at an angle) and there are pads for the bottom of the bracket and film for where the bracket hits the car.

When the moon roof glass opens/closes, it pushes the fairing up about an inch be hitting the smooth part of the backside of the bracket..actually looks kinda cool!

Just to make sure... you have a panoramic window? Does this rack work on a Venza 2010 with Panoramic roof?

I can only speak from my experience...
I have a 2009 with a panorama roof. The rack works fine, I've had it on for 18 months without issue. I've used it for 3 bikes and skis. I've had 7 pairs of race skis (heavy skis) in the carrier.

The towers sit above the door, not by the glass. The only tweaking I had to do was for the fairing (as explained above).

I can open and close my moon roof without any interference. It'll be nosier with the rack (depending on attachments), but it works fine.

    Hi,
Do you have the specific part number( or model) for the Yakima rack used on your Venza?

    Thank you

Just run through the 'fit my car' link in the yakima site, it'll configure it for your car.

The only difference between any of the roof racks are the 'clips' which customize the towers for your car.
