    Default Toyota Remote Starter

I have the Toyota OEM Remote Starter plus I have the Smart Key startup system. Once the remote start is on how do I get in the car without having the car turn off on you. I use to have a Rav4 with Viper alarm and I would get in the car put the key in and press the brake and the car would stay on. But I can't firgure how to do this with a keyless system.

Any car with a "Smart Key" system shuts off when you go to open the door. There is no professional way around it. It is done for security so nobody can get in and drive the car away. I am from the aftermarket world that does a lot of add-on remote starts. I opted to put the factory remote start on my own 2010 Smart Key V6 AWD Venza to avoid any dealer hassels about warranty. I have the extended warranty on my car and didn't want to deal with the grief. Being in the car dealer business, they will ALL blame aftermarket devices as soon as there is an electrical issue with a car. We have had to remove add-on items so the idiot dealer would look at the car. I prefer some of the aftermarket remote starts myself, but the factory kit works decent. Just my opinion.

My personal opinion of the Toyota remote start is that is terrible, I would advise anyone who is considering it to look at something else, the range is horrible and the fact you cant keep the vehicle running is just a terrible design...
