Around 3 weeks ago I purchased a 2009 Venza.
Last weekend I received the license plates and after fitting the front one, I saw that to make this work and not look like a crock of S=-*t, that I needed to fit some sort of bracket behind the plate that matched the contour of the bumper and the back of the license plate.
Today I went to Mossy Toyota in Pacific Beach, San Diego and after talking to 3 staff, with one of them telling me that a Venza front license plate bracket was going to cost me around $50 I started to get upset.
I finally got to talk to the Sales Manager and he agreed that it did not look right and told me to order the bracket through Spares and that Mossy Toyota Sales dept would pick up the tab.
My response was thank you very much...
As the bracket was not in inventory, I hope to pick it up later this week.
What amazed me about all of this, was that initially no one at Mossy Toyota knew what the heck I was talking about, which I must admit I found amazing that no one else who had purchased a new Venza had complained and brought this to their attention.
So fellow Venza owners if you have no front license plate bracket after you have paid good money to purchase your new Venza, then go back to the dealer and complain.
Hopefully you will get treated right as Mossy Toyota San Diego did for me.
By the way I have absolutly no connection what so ever towards Mossy Toyota.
Hope this helps you folks out there...

I received my bracket a few weeks ago after doing some research online that there was an actual TSB for this for a pre-delivery service. This I believe was for those dealers that live in states that require license plates on the front of the vehicle. I had noticed that my venza didn't have the bracket and just the plate on the front bumper looked like a piece of crap in my opinion. And that is when I decided to do a little online research.
So if you live in a state that requires a front plate, your dealership is required to put this on during their pre-delivery inspection per the TSB. I don't remember the TSB number but I'm pretty sure it came out in Nov of 08. This is why I got it for free from the dealer.
I just found the link:http://www.toyotapart.com/FRONT_LICE...SB-0338-08.pdf

I purchased my '09 V about 5 weeks ago. I was able to receive the bracket by asking the dealer to provide it as stated in the TSB. I am not a fan of the "Black" plastic so I decided to see if I could find a body shop to color match the bracket to my car.
I ended up stopping by another Toyota dealer because it was close to work. I asked the body shop if they could do such a job and they said SURE...
Yesterday I stopped by to see if it was done and WOW... I was very surprised.
They had preped the bracket, painted it and put a coat of clear coat and it looked PERFECT... But that is not all... when I asked the manager where I pay, he said "Just take it and have a great day"... Seriously... I was shocked... I figured I would pay 40 or 50 dollars but he said it was not a big deal and he figured it would make me happy...
Now all I have to do is get my license plates in and I'll be mounting it up to the bumper. It really looks GREAT and again... I am just as happy as can be....
Good for you about getting it painted for free!! Now that doesn't happen too often now does it?? You know, if they are already doing a paint job on another vehicle that is the same color, how much time does it really take to do this for someone?? It was a real nice gesture on the dealerships part!!

Lorraine's Vinny....I can't thank you enough for your information about the license plate bracket. I went to the link you suggested and made a copy of the TSB....went to my Toyota dealer this morning and they are ordering the part and I will have it tomorrow morning....no cost. This part should have been in the luggage area when the dealer took possesion of it from Toyota. This TSB indicated the bracket installation was part of the Pre-Delivery Service (PDS). This TSB was for a 2009 Venza and I was concerned because I have a 2010.....no problem. Thank you again! Dick
Thanks for the info guys..............I thought it was goofy not having a bracket on the front.
I just emailed my salesman and included the PDF..............we'll see what he says.
Thanks!

Brian. When the dealer attached their license holder without the bracket the holes were two high on the bumper. So now when I try to install the bracket I just got, it won't reach the holes that are there. A problem for me. It appears that I won't be able to use a bracket....not sure what I do at this point. I'll keep you posted. Dick
Just got my bracket today..............had to pay for it though. I showed them the PDF for the 2009 and they said that Toyota doesn't include the bracket for any 2010 Venzas (they have about 8 Venzas on their lot) so I had to pay..............$23.00.
Worth it though..............looks much better IMHO. It fit right in the stock holes where the dealer's bracket was originally installed.
Now I need to get a plain black bracket for the rear to get rid of the dealer insigna bracket.........

You are lucky the holes match.....does your plastic bracket have 2 clips on the bottom that snap into the lower grill work? Mine does and these clips won't let the bracket go up high enough to bolt into the two holes that the dealer made for their temp license holder. So I had to attach the license braket about 3 or 4 inches below these holes. Then I found a couple of screws that had chrome covers and I put them in the open holes. They look ok because they line up perfectly with the bracket screws but I'm not so sure I'll keep it. The bottom of the bracket lines up with the bottom of bumper. If I decide to change it I can use the original holes, do away with the bracket, and then the license plate will cover the other two holes. I've had a good relationship with my service rep and he took the TSB directly to the person that handles warranty issues and that person approved it at no charge.
